Taronga is open every day of the year except Christmas. The most rewarding arrival is by Sydney Harbour ferry — twelve minutes from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo Wharf.
The park is open daily 09:30 to 17:00 AEST. Closed on Christmas Day. The wildlife hospital and research areas are not open to the public.
In summer (November–February), opening hours may be extended into the evening on selected dates; check the park notice board.
The most rewarding arrival is by Sydney Ferries. The F2 line departs Circular Quay (Wharf 4) and reaches Taronga Zoo Wharf in about twelve minutes. Ferries run roughly every thirty minutes.
From the wharf you can walk up the hill (about six minutes) to the lower entrance, or take the park’s Sky Safari cable car up to the upper entrance. Sky Safari is included with admission (a separate booking is required).
If you arrive by car, the visitor car park sits on Bradleys Head Road; capacity is limited on weekday afternoons.
Main paths are paved for wheelchair use, but the hillside is steep and some routes require an attendant. The park offers free wheelchair loan (deposit required) and electric mobility-scooter hire. All visitor areas have accessible toilets.
Visitors with low vision can book a guided tour; visitors with hearing loss can collect a printed park map and a tactile map at the visitor centre. Auslan-led tours run on Sunday mornings by advance booking.
There are four food outlets: Taronga Food Market (self-service), the View Restaurant (with a harbour view), the Beach Café, and the Wild Bites kiosk. A baby-care room is in the north wing of the visitor centre. Outside food and plastic bottles are not permitted; free paper cups of water are available at the entrance.
